Soooo turns out I didn't get the raise my boss promised to give me. Nobody got a raise. I can understand why she's been desperate for me all week, she has hardly any staff left. And if my loan wasn't coming in two weeks after I need to pay my first rent payment, I'd be gone too. So I'm still on almost below minimum wage for a job that literally is back breaking. I've been working there TWO DAYS and I already have a burn and fucked the muscles in the arch of one of my feet somehow so now it hurts to bend it in certain ways. Which makes getting up off the ground and crouching to pick things up very painful.

It's making me get into gear about possibly opening up commissions and selling some of the anime stuff I don't want or need anymore. I have two huge boxes of manga and anime I am trying to get rid of, as well as doujinshi, plush toys, figures, extra keyblades, stickers--you name it, I probably have it in them depths of my room. I've made myself a selling community which I'll post up here when I've finished making some SELLING POSTS to it, and then let my flist have first picks over my junk and then advertise in LJ comms. HOPEFULLY I CAN SHIFT SOME OF IT AND EARN MY RENT. AND POSSIBLY FOOD BILLS BUT LET'S NOT GET TOO HASTY.

ANYWAY TODAY WAS MOSTLY AWESOME! I went into London and met up with [livejournal.com profile] ormery and [livejournal.com profile] countersparking to see Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, which I thought was amazing. I ENJOYED IT THOROUGHLY and really want to see it again. jfdgndfjg. I also purchased a Scott Pilgrim comic T-shirt and a textbook for my dissertation, and had an awesome fun time with my dudes. INJECTION OF HAPPY GET.

IT was really rainy and miserable all day though, and about halfway through the movie my cold decided to get about ten times worse, so I spent the rest of the day sort of in this... hazey headachey zombie walk. WHICH WASN'T VERY FUN. And now I have a blocked nose and I can't breathe and I have a headache and I have to be in work in the morning tomorrow, which means I can't go see Inception again with my parents. Sob. I mean, I guess I still have a job, but since I have it I am allowed to whine about it.

brb passing out forever.

the SORTING HAT meme

HAVE A MEME. I personally think I'd be in Hufflepuff with all the people with safety scissors and glitter glue, but lmao WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?

I didn't go get my tablet as I was struck down with a peculiar illness that my father has been suffering with for the past week, and was feeling too horrible to traipse my way into London so I stayed at home and slept. I'm sort of getting better, but its kinda the thing where you feel better and then SUDDENLY IT GETS VERY VERY WORSE. I'm going into London on Thursday to meet up with my friend Hayley who I've not seen since my art foundation, and we're probably gonna go see the new Harry Potter movie 8D I AM APPREHENSIVE ABOUT IT because when I read the book for this one I was actually bored to tears. Let's hope the film is more exciting.

Also, the new Green Day Album is amazing, and SO MUCH BETTER than American Idiot. Ffff. If you like their stuff give it a look, because shit damn I'm so impressed with them. I wish I'd gotten tickets for the tour now, fuckkk. 8( [livejournal.com profile] peypea TAKE ME WITH YOU ;A;

So I finally have enough money to even consider buying a new tablet! Hopefully I'm going into London tomorrow and getting it \o\ I want the new Bamboo so bad ;A; the biggest one too. GOD why am I such a Wacom sellout. I've really been finding it hard to cope without a tablet. Its frustrating because I have TWO PERFECTLY GOOD ONES, they just refuse to listen to me SIGH. Hopefully I'll be able to find a cheap scanner too, since I've not had a scanner for like.. a year and a half. 8|a

BUT TODAY! I walked to work with my sister who works in the same place as me on Fridays, and we passed a Charity shop that had a few of the stuff it sells outside the shop? And there, sitting on a fugly couch, was an acoustic guitar, with about two strings. I didn't think anything of it, since I was late for work, and it was only till I was about 2 hours in that I decided that I WANTED THAT GUITAR FOR NO GOOD REASON! So my sister went to get it in her break! The lady at the shop had two guitars she was selling, one without strings and the one I'd seen before. She wanted more money for the one with the two strings apparently, because it HAD TWO STRINGS, but according to Hannah it was in really bad condition. SO she got me the other one.

So now I have an Acoustic guitar, without strings and with slightly rusty tuning peg things for £3 (about $5). Hannah's boyfriend said that he'd be happy to go with me to a guitar shop to get the pegs replaced, and he'll restring it for free (he's in a band and plays lead electric 8D). \o\ SO PURA IS GOING TO LEARN GUITAR. Or try. I've also decided that I'm going to get a absurdly coloured ukulele (I SAW A NEON GREEN ONE LAST TIME I WAS IN THE MUSIC SHOP, I WANTED IT SO HARD) at some point, since they are smaller and easier to learn from I think. But I AM EXCITED. More than I probably should be orz.

I had fuuun yesterday, and the FREEDOM cupcakes seemed to go down a treat! :D It sucked that I had to leave before the pizza and the terrifyingly bad movie, but whatevvvs! It was fun spending time with the dudes, that was for sure.

One thing that I could've done without was the huge ass blister I got from walking around in bad shoes. Seriously this thing is like the size of a 2p coin (a dollar coin i guess) and it's on the SOLE OF MY FOOT. THE. SOLE. I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IT WAS POSSIBLE TO GET BLISTERS THERE?? And since I didn't get back till late, I had to walk up a huge hill with it to get home, and since I didn't want to put pressure on it I was basically walking on my tippy toes for about 20 minutes. And when I got home I was so exhausted I just fell into bed and passed out.

I can't actually walk now. YAY!! Like seriously I'm not even kidding. Who knows what I'm going to be doing for work tomorrow since it's sort of a STANDING JOB 8|a

Those shoes are so in the trash now. And my mom has already started calling me Hop-Along. Joy.

IN OTHER NEWS, I think since I can't walk or do much of anything today, I'm going to attempt to get back to my rp tags. WISH ME LUCK GUYS.

The How's My Driving? Meme

just because I already feel paranoid enough 8|

Going to London to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] squeakyorm today, and then picking up [livejournal.com profile] finalfantasia and [livejournal.com profile] silverbrumby123 who are staying over at my house for Expo :D can't wait! I've got a really busy weekend ahead of me, oooh boy. Lots of late nights and early starts and walking around London with people who are dressed as dead Itachi, BUT buying Pokemon Platinium today makes it alllll better. |D (it would make it even better if Nintendo were running an event in London so I could get Shaymin, but apparently I'm a month late for that, sobs.)

Also, on reflection I probably shouldn't have stayed up till 3am reading New X-men when I was crying that much (ITS A VERY SAD SERIES ;A;), nor should I have been contemplating with Squeak how Tommy would be the first Young Avenger to die because he's expendable and would probably give his life to save Kate's, because now I fucking exhausted and upset. OH WELL.

Going home today, for Easter! I think I'd be more excited if I didn't have to do as much work as I've been given, BUT HEY. DOUBLE BED. fhjsgg. (but seriously, 2000 word essay, and two separate projects.) I don't understand why we have to go back. Basically, we go back to Uni from Easter (I get two weeks off) and then have two weeks of classes/finishing projects and then we're finished. A LITTLE POINTLESS IF YOU ASK ME, but hey what do I know.

I am not looking forward to dragging that heavy suitcase around the London underground, 'specially since London Paddington has a fuckton of steps. ;__; last time I did it, my back was killing me. Cries.

- also, I met a guy last night called Slade. He had bright purple hair and a lip ring. I couldn't take him seriously all evening (which is good since he's kind of a really funny guy) because I kept thinking of TT Slade and what Robin would do if he found out Slade was actually a 20 year-old history student who spends his evenings wishing he was smart enough to build a time machine and bring back Napoleon so that he didn't have to do his essay.
