man the world hates me right now.
The first bit of creative juices that I've gotten flowing in literally a month or two and my tablet just dies on me.
It has been acting up for the past couple times i've been using it, and today it just refused to do anything. The light was flashing saying that it was on, but the pen did not register when I touched the tablet. I thought the battery had run out so I changed it, and there was no difference. The wires are sort of frayed where they go into the actual tablet (its an Aiptek Slim 600U) so I figured that its just decided to die on me.
So I go downstairs to my parents to ask my mother how much she paid for it since I sort of need it for my university course, and I'd like to draw things on the computer and my mom says a price. Now I don't have that sort of money right now (its not wacom expensive, but suffice to say that its a lot) and I complain about that. And then. My mom then says. "Oh well, maybe if you had a job this wouldn't be an issue."
Excuse me? I've been job hunting for the past FOUR MONTHS! Don't you dare throw that back at me and make ME feel bad for being a STUDENT in a failing ECONOMY! There are NO JOBS going! None! You KNOW that! It doesn't MATTER how many times I go back to my old workplace and ask for my old job back, THEY ARE NOT HIRING PEOPLE. How many times DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU THIS? When I was in London on Wednesday, basically EVERY STORE I went to, I asked if they had any summer vacancies! IT'S NOT MY FAULT OKAY?
And no, I haven't gotten back to that Creases lady yet because though she is nice and everything, I despise working for her. It's ironing. It's standing it what is basically a sweat shop for 5+ hours ironing sheets because the lady doesn't think I am competent enough to iron ANYTHING ELSE. And it KILLS my back every time I do it! She pays me below minimum wage! And I HATE DOING IT. It's a last resort okay? I really hate it and I'd sooner sell all my possessions than work for her.
Why can't you understand that?
Anyways, now that raeg is off my chest, I do have an old wacom graphire but I think its broken as thats the reason I replaced it with the Aiptek so I'll probably never actually get to draw this picture tonight (and by draw I mean ink and colour on the computer. I actually drew it on paper first). I suppose if I use the money from the manga sales to pay for a new tablet I could get away with getting an A4 wacom bamboo, but I'm not sure since they are like £170. EDIT: Oh wait, the A5 ones are £170. My mistake. *sobs*
Does anyone want to recommend graphic tablets to me? I want an A4 sized one (normal printing paper size) and I'm on a tight budget, but suggestions would be nice.

You could be the most perfect person in the world, have a well paying job, all that, and you'd probably still get the I'M-GOING-TO-MAKE-YOU-FEEL-BAD comments because that's a parent thing. Even when they don't mean to, they do it. You just have to push past it and remember that you are trying even if there are people trying to make you feel bad for shit that isn't true.
Sorry I am not an eloquent person, I want to say so much more and can't figure out how to. :(

That's because she's going to be a single parent paying for a fully grown daughter, a teenage son, a dog, and a cat.

This is my second, but I had the first one for ages and didn't use it for years, then I started using it and it broke about three months later :'D

Haha. I used mine when I first got it because I'd been hankering for one for ages. I've never NOT had a tablet for at least 5 or 6 years SO I AM UPSET
