tiny update

QUERY, FLIST:

How can the actor who played Johnny Storm in the Fantastic Four movies, go on to play Cap in the Captain America movies and the Avenger film? Of course the movies are from different universes from the comics, and even the movies are set on their own earth sometimes from movies that relate to one another (see X-Men and X-Men Origins, though don't quote me on that) but SERIOUSLY? It would be like casting Hugh Jackman as.. someone far less hairy and nice. And with less adamantium. And more patriotism. But seriously, The Human Torch ≠ Captain America.

I sort of wanted Jensen Ackles to get it, ngl. WE SHALL SEE HOW THIS PLAYS OUT.

I ALSO SAW HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON AND I AM IN POST-MOVIE-GLEE ABOUT IT. More on this later though, possibly when I've seen it again. (OH GOD IT WAS SO CUTE AND I WANT A TOOTHLESS PLUSHIE THE FUCK RIGHT NOW) ...and Hannah just showed me some popcorn that she just pulled out of her bra. My cue to end this journal I think.

Probably because the FF movies sucked pretty hard and I doubt they're planning on **making another one not remaking them lol. If they do they'll probably reboot and then problem solved lol.

I'm just glad they didn't go with that guy from the office because that's what everyone was saying for quite a while and I was very DNW on the subject.

Yeah I know, but establishing someone in that role and then casting them as someone from the same 'world' just doesn't make sense. (and I kind of liked the first one, but I'd not read any of the comics, so... derp)

See, he looks more like cap than Chris Evans does.

It is a sort of strange decision I agree, but not necessarily a bad one imo. Yeah the first FF movie was a'ight I guess, but then I didn't want to see the second one and was forced, and it confirmed my belief that it wasn't worth seeing -_-;. I've never read the comics either but that shouldn't matter with the movie--you can't judge it based on the comics, but have to consider it it's own separate entity and judge it by movie type things I guess. Lol so articulate ik.

But I think that the goal is to get the All-American look, and while that was one thing in the forties when Cap was created, it's different now. I think that Chris Evans is very much what you would consider the (attractive) American guy look of the 21st century, you know? He does also usually play "bad boy" roles though, so it'll be interesting to see what he does with Cap.

Yeah, I know they should be seperate, because a movie is never going to be exactly the same as the source material. I've not seen the second one, and I have no desire, and I think the first FF was okay. It wasn't AMAZING, but it was okay.

And yeah, I get that too, but like you said, Evans plays the bad boys and I'm not sure how well that'll translate across to Cap, since he's anything but unless they use ultimate cap

I'm not going to pass any judgements now, I'm a but confused over the whole Johnny Storm now = Cap thing though, I have to admit. If he's a good actor he will pull it off though! I still want to see it.

That's why you have to separate them, otherwise you're going to hate it haha. And it's a different medium so things have to be done differently, it's not really meant to just be a carbon copy of the original. I used to be a huge stickler about this even though I'd try not to be, like I'd freak out about the tiniest little changes but I'm taking a film class this semester lol. sorry. Ranting.

But yeah. I'm going to have faith in him because I want to :]. I want this movie to be good.

HOW DARE YOU

Well, I now consider Howl's Moving Castle the movie, and the book as two totally different things, as they are both good, but very different. It's just one directors take on a piece of media, and since the director is different from the original writers, of course it'll be different.

I WANT IT TO BE GOOD TOO. SO BAD.
