come down to lake pontchartrain

So it’s been a while since I updated this, and in the interim I went to SDCC, left the lovely lynxgriffin’s company and flew back to JFK, spent the night in an airport and then flew to Bermuda, which is where I am now. I’m going to write a report on the con, SO THIS ENTRY IS PROBABLY GOING TO BE VERY LONG WINDED as it’s way overdue, but I shall try and keep it short!

But this picture basically summarizes my trip to San Diego:


There was a big Marvel Wall. The Young Avengers had a tiny space to themselves (Cassie and Vision were futher up and Billy WAS NO WHERE TO BE SEEN 8C), and it must have been FATE OR SOMETHING BECAUSE TOMMY WAS THE ONE WHO WAS GROUND LEVEL. FUCK YES I WAS SO HAPPY I DON'T EVEN.

HERE IS WHAT WE DID. If you’ve already read lynxgriffin’s report, it’s going to be pretty similar since we spent the majority of the weekend together except you get a running commentary by me, aren’t you lucky. :D

So much for keeping that short, uh.

Oh man though, IT WAS SUCH A GOOD EXPERIENCE! I really want to go again next year, this time armed with business cards and portfolios I think, since I had a couple of people asking for my card and I didn’t have any with me. Derp. I met so many amazing people and had SUCH A GOOD TIME DKJNF ;____;

So about a day after we get back from comic con, I was flying out of Cali and back to JFK to finish my American Leg of this trip. I cannot express how much fun it’s been. I’ve met so many people I never thought I’d have the chance to meet, and I am so appreciative of all the people who housed me and came to see me. I love you all and I hope if you’re ever my side of the world I can return the favour. Seriously thank you all so much <3 <3

Spending the night in JFK was pretty uneventful. I bought a redbull and downed it, and stayed in the baggage collection lobby. The only working outlet was in a Dunkin Donuts, and the people behind the counter were kind enough to let me sit in the store on the floor all night. Of course, the only working outlet had to be RIGHT NEXT TO THE FRIDGE so I was fucking FREEZING all night. My will to be warm was overridden by my will to have internet though. Seriously, THIS IS WHERE I WAS SITTING FOR ABOUT 7 HOURS OMFG.

BUT NOW I AM IN BERMUDA doing family things and working my way through the entire Temeraire series (Currently on book three, already have a Maximus muse FUCK). I’ve had a bit of a turbulent time here, but that’s saved for another journal because I’d rather keep this one as upbeat as I felt coming back from comic con. Needless to say, I can’t wait till I get to go home on the 15th. I miss all my English dudes and I want to sleep in my own bed!

It was weird for that one day I was older than you. Thankfully the universe is now back in balance. oh god how are we 21 now


Okay now that's out of the way, thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday! I really appreciated it, and I think that this was one of my better birthday's, even though I wasn't at home and my mom made my sister an AMAZING CAKE (no seriously look at this thing)

I had such a great day. It didn't start out too great as I had to do some work for my tutor but, man. I had so much fun. I basically went to hikaridonya's house with silverbrumby123 and another friend, and we had a BBQ because the weather was so nice, and then played Rock Band for almost 6 hours. And I finally got the courage to sing whilst playing, and I actually had more fun than I thought I would. We also got one of our other friends to sing, and he did a rendition of one of Fall Out Boy's song as Skeletor, and I am not kidding we were all laughing hysterically. I'm so upset I didn't get it on film, because we basically ALL failed because we were laughing so hard. And one of the guys who failed, frequently gets 100% on expert. KJSDKJFN. It was so funny. I'm totally getting one of these, I mean, how else am I going to buy the Green Day version?

But yeah! A great birthday, with lots of amazing presents. It was such a nice break from the stress of work. Thank you all so much ♥♥♥
