MY LIFE HAS BEEN SO CRAZY LATELY!!!

On Wednesday, ormery came down to stay with me for a couple of days, and pretty much all of my flatmates, plus one virtualdon and Squeak went to see the new Harry Potter film. IT WAS SO GOOD I DON'T EVEN. The next one can't come fast enough!! It has to be my favourite so far. God, I love Luna so good, but was really upset they changed Dobby's VA. It bothered me a lot 8( But it was lovely to see it with everyone, and I loved having Squeak around. I missed his lovely face.

THEN my Dad called me to say that he managed to transfer the money he'd brought back with him from Bermuda to my bank account, which meant that I could pretty much buy a Mac whenever I wanted! SO FAST FOWARD TO SATURDAY, I went into Cardiff, and with Donya's help, I purchased a Macbook Pro with Apple Care for three years, and cried at all that money going in one swoop (even with almost £500 off for being a student). But oh my goodness it was so worth it. I have spent pretty much all of today TOUCHING IT GLEEFULLY and admiring how pretty it is and getting used to where the different keys are and new shortcuts (not that it's going to take me long to get the hang of, since I've been using macs for years). And. GOSH. It is so pretty I don't even. So worth the money. I have named it Cupcake because I am predictable. But now I have very light savings to last me till January. Which should be interesting. I had to open up icon commissions, but I doubt I'll get any. Would anyone be interested in art commissions for £5/£10? I'm not sure what kind they would be but I need the money :(

ANYWAY today has sort of being a crazy day of fail when it comes to our house. Because it's been so cold lately (about -2 Celsius for the past three days IN THE DAY TIME AND IT SNOWED WHAT THE CRAP) all of our external pipes are frozen. Which caused our washing machine to spit all it's water onto our kitchen floor. So our landlord came around and took off the frozen pipe outside, which means it's spurting water onto our pavement instead of our drain but it's a fix till the weather clears up. AND THEN not an hour later, we notice a huge puddle coming from under our boiler, and one of the pipes is dripping scarily fast. So we call him back and he comes back out and, again, it's because of one of the external pipes had frozen so the boiler condensation pipe got backed up and overflowed.

And then we realised the toaster had given up the will to live.

FML.

But anyway other than being cold and slightly damp and toasterless, I have a beautiful laptop, had a lovely week and I'm quite content. It's probably going to change because I have a deadline fast approaching and I have thirty seconds of test animations, a three minute animatic to do as well as a whole bunch of concept art and blog catch up, so the stress is kind of getting to me. SHOULD BE INTERESTING. And once I hand in, I get to go home for the winter holidays. Looking forward to that. BUT TILL THEN, WISH ME LUCK ON MY DEADLINE.

You'd think I'd learn to do my work on time 8|;

EDIT: ALSO ME AND peypea ARE WATCHING SEASON ONE OF SUPERNATURAL, AND FINN HUDSON'S ACTOR, CORY MONTEITH, IS IN THE WINDIGO EPISODE AND GETS EATEN BY A WINDIGO. AHAHA I NEVER NOTICED BEFORE but it was a funny realization.

I know everyone's probably been getting this on their flists, but please--do not repost anything onto Twitter or Facebook from my journal without my permission. Till they give us a disable option I'm TRUSTING YOU ALL. OKAY? GOOD. (Seriously though, LJ can go fuck itself with that. We don't want to post things everywhere we are capable of opening new tabs if we want to and it's going to make internet wank a whole new level of horrific if RL social networking is involved. Something tells me you didn't think this through.)


In other news OMFG CHILDREN'S CRUSADE I CANNOT WAIT TO HOLD IT WITH MY FINGERS!!! IT WAS THE BEST TOMMYTASTIC ISSUE EVER AND I AM STILL FLAILING ABOUT IT FROM LAST NIGHT FDKJNGKDJDGJKG. I CANNOT PUT IT INTO COHERENT WORDS.

Okay so I was originally going to post a livejournal entry before I left, but then I woke up and started to panic because I couldn't check in online because I didn't have an ESTA form, and by the time it had been sorted out I was in the car on the way to the train station. And I'm stingy so I didn't want to pay for internet at the airport.

BUT ANYWAY. I AM IN AMERICA NOW!! \o/ With the lovely somnomania who kept her vigil at the airport even though my flight was delayed AND immigration took about two hours. Didn't actually get to her house till 6am English time, so I was kind of wiped 8|b

ANYWAY HERE IS A BRIEF SUMMARY OF MY TRIP:

And everything is handed in on time. You have no idea how relieved I am now that it's all over, well, at least till next year where the work load is going to like, triple. But I'm not going to worry about that till the summer, when I have to start doing my work. For now I can ENJOY my spare time without feeling utterly guilty that I'm not doing any school work.

-Oh, and hey, lynxgriffin, do you want to start up those art projects we did last summer? I think it'd be really fun again :)

I think I'm still going to go ahead and take a week off the internet even though I'm feeling better than I did a few days ago. Not sure how long it'll last since my mom told me that I'm going to be stuck in Wales till the 22nd now instead of going home this weekend, (and oh god that is so boring) but I'm going to make an effort to try and have a bit of time off. I think I'm going to try and get some hardcore gaming time in, sleep catchup, iconning and catch up on TV shows.

I got back to uni today after spending part of the day with the lovely ormery and countersparking. It's not so lovely that I have a 12 week project and an essay to do in 3 weeks, BUT I ALWAYS MANAGE IT. My lectures start up again tomorrow, and that teacher that everyone thinks is a useless waste of space has taken a leave of absence, so we get to be taught by my favourite lecturer, which I'm totally scyhed about. She's such an inspiration, and totally on my wavelength, and doesn't use long words to make herself sound fancy.

Just three more weeks and then I can have summer! And next week I get to book my final plane tickets for my American Adventure, and then all I have to pay is for things when I'm actually out there. Omg I am so excited.

ALSO my parents gave me an early birthday present yesterday since I won't be home for my 21st (but I'm hopefully going to have a guitar hero evening with cake /stares at hikaridonya) and it's that Flip Cam that I wanted! So now I can vlog my way around America. FUUUUUCK YES. It's such a cute little camera and so light! I can see why it's popular with the vlogging community.

It's going to be such a great summer, I can feel it :D
